Semaglutide Weight Loss Management
Semaglutide has emerged as an exciting option for tackling obesity. Initially designed to address type 2 diabetes, this medication has proven its effectiveness in facilitating weight loss when utilized for this specific indication. At SculptMED Aesthetics, we’re excited to provide semaglutide injections for reliable and safe weight loss.
What Is Semaglutide?
Shedding those extra pounds can feel like an uphill battle, especially as we age and factors like stress, hormones, and metabolism come into play. If diet and exercise aren’t cutting it, there’s a revolutionary weight loss program ready to give you the boost you need to reach your aesthetic goals.
Enter semaglutide, the game-changer also known as Glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1). This weekly injectable medication does more than just stimulate insulin release; it’s a powerhouse that slows down stomach movement, curbs appetite, and helps stabilize blood sugar levels. On average, you can expect to lose 1-2 pounds per week.
Originally designed to manage diabetes, semaglutide surprised researchers with its remarkable weight loss effects. By mimicking the actions of the hormone GLP-1, it taps into brain areas responsible for appetite and food intake regulation. It is not just a diabetes medication—it can effectively be used for weight management in adults struggling with obesity or excess weight, offering a new weight loss solution to the 70% of Americans facing this health challenge.

How Does It Work?
Semaglutide is a powerhouse when it comes to weight loss. By prompting the pancreas to release insulin at the right times and slowing down stomach emptying, it allows the body to lose weight more easily. This means slower digestion, a reduced appetite, and stable blood sugar and energy levels. Plus, it has appetite-suppressing effects that keeps you feeling full for longer, making it easier to eat less and shed those pounds—up to two each week with weekly injections.
Research has shown that most individuals see significant drops in weight when they paired the injections with lifestyle changes like diet and exercise.
Overview of Treatment Options
Semaglutide’s growing demand has led to its use for weight management under other brand names like Ozempic and Rybelsus. These alternatives offer potential solutions for individuals facing medication shortages, particularly those managing diabetes.
✦ Wegovy, manufactured by Novo Nordisk, is a once-weekly injectable medication designed for individuals dealing with obesity or overweight and related health issues.
✦ Healthcare providers typically initiate Wegovy treatment with a low dose, gradually titrating up to a maintenance dosage of 2.4 mg per week as tolerated by the patient.
✦ Users of Wegovy often report substantial weight loss and decreased cravings over an extended treatment period.
✦ Common side effects such as nausea and diarrhea are frequently experienced initially but typically improve with continued use.
✦ Similarly developed by Novo Nordisk, Ozempic is primarily used for managing type 2 diabetes but may also be utilized off-label for weight management purposes.
✦ Ozempic is administered on a weekly basis, with healthcare providers adjusting the dosage as necessary until reaching a maintenance dose of either 1 mg or 2 mg.
✦ While nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea are commonly encountered side effects with Ozempic, they often diminish over time as the body adjusts to the medication.
✦ Studies have demonstrated significant weight reduction in individuals with type 2 diabetes treated with Ozempic, with notable decreases observed within the first three months of initiating therapy.
